CCF Church History

The history is still being written; please come by soon and be apart of it!

CCF Begins

The "seeds" of CCF began while 'Pastor Duke' was stationed on Okinawa as that is where God finally made him realize that he was to leave the Active Duty Air Force and become a pastor. There on Okinawa Pastor was able to see how God could move freely to bring healing and love to any who would call on his name. It was a wonder to see people from differing Christian denominations could pull together to see God glorified. When Pastor Duke returned to the U.S. He had nine months to complete in the U.S.A.F and was sent to Abilene Tx. where he and his new Bride Anne began to work with the youth and single adults at Bethel Temple Christian Center. While there God was begining to show pastor Duke the need to return to Maryland, where he had been raised.

On his return from the Air Force, Pastor Duke and his wife began to attend Servern Covenant Church where again Pastor Duke worked with the youth. God also provided him with a several sales jobs and Anne with a nannie position while Pastor Duke attended Chesepeake Bible College. By his second year in Bible College, Pastor duke had moved to a secular job working as night time security. This made the traditional church service a difficulty, but still they went. Also in this second year, Pastor Duke began to see where God would use him best. A bible study had formed in his home that was stregthing believers who like Pastor Duke had schedules that required more flexibility. This Bible Study became the foundations of Christian Community Fellowship.

In July of 1996, Pastor Duke was ordained under the Deliverance Temple Ministries and CCF became a recognized church in the State of Maryland. We began to hold services in the Union Protestant Church building in Herald Harbor and had also started a vibrant youth group. We continued a late Sunday Afternoon service that would end with weekly fellowship dinners, and true to the prophesy made by Pastor Delmar Lawson on the day Pastor Duke was ordained, "10 would come, 3 would stay."

In the late 90's, we began Christian Community Fellowship School. We were doing this to fill a need in the local area for many Christian families that were unable to afford larger Christian Schools and yet were unable to home school. This ministry saw many young people graduate and move into some wonderful places such as missionaries and local police forces! We continue now to support "God's herritage" through our Home School Covering.

In 2001 the world took a devestating turn with the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentegon. Pastor Duke was reactivated on 9-11 and has maintained viggilance over the DC area since as a member of the DC Air National Guard. Durring these times, Pastor has also been sent to Iraqi Freedom but when deployed, God has brought wonderful church friends in to lead.

The latest chapter in CCF history has been one of moving to a newer loctation. We now meet in the Crownsville Church of God Missions building. Sadly the move did end our evening fellowship dinners but in God's time, they will again begin.
