Anne and I were called back to Maryland once I left the Active Duty Air Force. We settled into the area we grew up and I picked up a secular job. We both desired children, but the Dr.s didn't think it would happen due to Anne's JRA. Long story short there, we didn't believe the Dr.s, we believed God and His word. Our first year of marriage came and went with no children. More years passed and I completed Bible College, and still no children. IN 1996, we started CCF, but our home was quiet with no little feet clamoring about. Our hearts were broken but we knew and held onto that sweet promise that Children are a heritage unto the Lord (Psalm 122). 1998 rolled around and as things go, I had joined the DCANG and was TDY to Alaska. While there miles away from my church, wearing the uniform of a Weapons Loader, God was working. I during my off time had gone to visit a small church near "North Pole AK" and the pastor's wife asked if she could pray for me. Not being one to turn down prayer, I came forward. Cindy Harbor had no idea of Anne's and my sorrow of having no children as she began to pray, and then prophecy. She looked at me and stated with the authority of one who heard God clearly, "You and your wife's time of sorrow is ending, she will conceive before the years end." Looking back as I'm about to witness the birth of our 4th child, I know God is good. I know there is only One God revealed in 3 persons, Father Son and Holy Spirit. I know he chooses to call some to ministry, and others to be ministered to. Beyond all things though, I know His love for all who will seek Him and call on His Name. |
