Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you just what God has done in my life. One's "testimony" in truth is part of "His Story" and the workings of Christ the Risen Lord within the life of those He has chosen, those who have called on His Holy Name. There has not been a time in my life when I did not believe in God, (by His grace alone) but that isn't to say that I have always listened. Sadly the contrary is true. I was born in Va. in 1971 to believing parents, though their belief structure in the same risen Lord was very different from each other. My father at my birth had recently joined the early Charismatic movement while my mother was raised a 7th Day Adventist. To a child, this was quite confusing as my parents or my father and grandfather would argue Christ, the law, Election vs. predestination (all the petty things that tend to divide the body but profit the church none.) At a young age, I did accept the Lord, though the confusion of 2 theologies made me question the validity of any faith. By the time I reached 7th grade, I had also started wondering about a more "eastern mindset". This being the question of "do all roads (ie Islam, Buddhism, Christianity etc...) lead to the same God). I began to believe the lie. Soon after I even began to gain some experience with spiritism and the occult. By God's grace alone, He pulled me from that downward spiral. By age 16, I had rededicated myself to Christ and was following Him, though not a very concerted walk. I read and understood the scriptures but still held a very worldly view on day to day living. Then God introduced me to the woman I would marry, Anne! We began to grow towards Him together, but then our relationship began to get in the way of God's calling on my life. God used the Air Force (which I joined at 17) to separate Anne and I for a time. I spent two years on Okinawa Japan and it was there that I finally quit running from my calling. God had called me to be a pastor. Once I left Okinawa, (where I was on the Praise Team, worked with the youth and did street evangelism)God called Anne and I to Texas. We married while I transitioned from Okinawa to Dyess AFB Tx. In Texas, God used she and I to work with the youth and the college aged folks. It was needed training and preparation for what God was calling us to in Maryland. next |
